Burt Reynolds Star Wars Its fair to say the new millennium has not been kind to Old Burt, with very few roles of any note coming out of the noughties and later. In saying that, in his day Burt Reynolds was one of the most sought after actors on the planet. You could make the case that he's only where he is due to a few questionable career moves when he was on top. Look on any online biography about the actor and it'll tell you he passed up on leading roles in Die Hard, James Bond, MASH, Rocky and Rosemary's Baby - all subsequently becoming classics in their own right. He also, arguably most regrettably, passed up on the chance to play the iconic rogue Han Solo in Lucas' original trilogy. There's little to be found on the internet as to why he turned it down (and what the internet doesn't know, no one does) but I suppose we can cut the man a little bit of slack - after all he's only one in a list of Solo-rejectors that include the likes of Robert De Niro, Sly Stallone, Christopher Walken, Kurt Russell and...
