2. Jackie Chan Was Disappointed By It - Rush Hour
Sure, they might not rank as highly as the likes of the terrific Police Story or Rumble in the Bronx in most die-hard Jackie Chan fans' list of his greatest cinematic outings, but the equally gifted thespian/stunt performer's appearances in the Rush Hour series are still up there with the best of them in terms of joyous popcorn action.
That being said, Chan himself has never been afraid of letting his true feelings on the buddy cop flicks be known when nudged on the matter. And when talking to Crosswalk about not understanding why the likes of Rush Hour are so damn popular in the states back in 2002, the Hollywood legend hilariously confessed:
"Something I don't like is successful like Rush Hour... Then I go to Asia to make Asian film and they call me and say, 'Jackie, big hit! It success!' I say what? Then I make Rush Hour 2 and I hate it! Worse than Rush Hour 1! And they call me and say, 'It success!'"
It didn't matter that Chan wasn't fully aware of why Western audiences loved his undeniable chemistry with Chris Tucker and that he was "tired" of the franchise, the star knew he was onto a good thing. And happily signed on the dotted line for Rush Hour 3...
