Adam Sandler has been at the front of comedy films for the last three decades. Delivering his signature charisma and larger than life characters, Sandler has been in Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Grown Ups and Big Daddy. But even with one of the largest comedy film rosters of any actor, Sandler has been sadly forced into his own typecasting.

When many audiences see Sandler in a role, it is predominantly the same character. He consistently plays the irresponsible man-child trying to hang on to his lost youth despite having adult responsibilities. Often sarcastic and childish, Sandler keeps being cast in these roles. Audiences still enjoy his signature character however he has not been able to truly show everyone his range as an actor.

The Exception - Uncut Gems

Uncut Gems was one of Netflix's most underappreciated releases of 2019. Sandler delivered one of his best, most nuanced performances of his career. Playing a complete reinvention of his usual character, Sandler played an ambitious and manipulative schemer, who was always out for the next big payout. He brought a tough and grounded character to the screen that audiences had never seen from him.

I currently attend the University of Salford, studying Broadcast Journalism. That's it really. Told you there was nothing special. If you're really that desperate for something to do, follow me on socials. Yes, I do like that ego boost.
