10 Actors Who Appeared On Star Trek In Unusual Ways

7. Jeff Bezos

Star Trek Beyond
CBS

Jeff Bezos, in one aspect at least, is like many of us when he says that he has been a Star Trek fan since he was a small child. He described calling Paramount Studios and Viacom repeatedly, begging them to let him be in a Star Trek film. He also stipulated that he would wear any amount of make-up and play any part, just so that he could appear on-screen.

When Star Trek Beyond went into production, Bezos got his wish. Justin Lin got the call, advising him that Bezos had to be in the film. What's more, the role had to be a speaking part, with words that were integral to the overall plot so that it couldn't end up on the cutting room floor.

In the end, Bezos gets to say two words on-screen: Speak Normally. He is the heavily made-up officer who fits Kalara with her universal translator. Though the scene lasts barely a moment, Bezos credited the entire experience as highly memorable, even if the character didn't end up fitting that same description.
