All right, so it seemed like Jack Black was set to make a triumphant return to show business when he appeared in the 2015 film adaptation of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series, though that movie - despite making a fair amount at the box office - failed to reignite his career to the extent that many predicted.

Jack Black is a unique actor, however, and is capable of great, entertaining performances when he lands the right roles. After a two year lull in which the only thing he did was provide the voice for Po in Kung Fu Panda 3, the Tenacious D actor has returned with two films which could result in a stellar comeback.

The first film, The Polka King, is a comedy flick based that will see Black as Jan Lewan, a real life polka sensation who wound up tricking the world and committing fraud. It's the perfect vehicle for Black, who is bound to turn in a fantastically demented performance - one that'll straddle the line between comedy and drama.

Then there's his role in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, a movie that will see the actor playing the avatar of a teenage girl after she's sucked into a video game alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - presumably to hilarious results.

Combined, these roles could really work wonders for Black's career prospects and help to get him back where he belongs: at the top.
