Kiefer Sutherland's own website describes him as an 'actor and a musician', which shows how clearly he is taking his alternative career. After a huge run of movie hits in the 80s, most notably in 'Lost Boys', he then went on to repeat the success in the recurring TV drama series '24'. As with many actors whose first love was music, the high profile and huge success that his career gave him enabled him to try to turn that to his advantage to pursue his own music.

It took until 2016 for him to actually release his first album, 'Down In A Hole'. The majority of the songs were co-written by Sutherland and are in the country/Americana vein that so many actors seem to gravitate towards. Again, much like a number of actors on this list, Sutherland is equally at home playing guitar or singing, with the kind of mellow vocal style that would fit comfortably on any roots or country station.

Sutherland is clearly committed to pursuing his music to the full and has performed over a thousand shows under the banner of The Kiefer Sutherland Band. He released a second album, 'Reckless Me', in 2019 and was scheduled to play dates in the UK and US until the shutdown of live music brought about by the global pandemic.
