The second feature from David Cronenberg's son Brandon has already picked up rave reviews from the festival circuit, with Possessor following a corporate agent, Tasya Vos (Andrea Riseborough), who uses brain-hijacking tech to inhabit people's bodies and commit assassinations.

However, Tasya finds her own reality increasingly unraveling as she begins to lose her sense of self, which in one portion of the film sees Tasya undergo an unsettling physical transformation, whether part of her reality or not.

For the sequence, actress Andrea Riseborough had to wear a prosthetic mask designed to conceal her facial features, in service of the movie's primary theme - loss of identity.

Above all else, it certainly delivers the disturbing intended effect.
