4. Milly Shapiro - The Hallowarrior

Milly Shapiro gave an unforgettable performance in 2018's Hereditary, and recent word indicates that she's been quite perfectly cast to play Carrie White in Mike Flanagan's new Carrie TV series for Amazon. But before this, Shapiro will next star in The Hallowarrior, a post-apocalyptic horror-thriller with a distinct Halloween theme.

Shapiro will play protagonist Pumpkin, Earth's apparent sole survivor of a plague who, while scavenging for supplies on All Hallows' Eve, finds herself facing off against a gang of raiders led by Thalia (Shannyn Sossamon).

Despite receiving considerable critical plaudits for her performance in Hereditary, this is actually Shapiro's first film in the seven years since, while having just a few scattered TV credits to her name in the interim (most recently last year's Hysteria!).

The shadowy first look at Shapiro as Pumpkin is admittedly tough to make out, but she's certainly looking considerably different from when most horror fans last saw her, not to ignore that her face appears to be splashed with what we can only assume is blood.
