10 Actors Who Avoided Awful Movies Due To "Scheduling Conflicts"

7. Jodie Foster - Hannibal/Flora Plum

Tom Hardy Suicide Squad

Considering the true masterpiece of cinema that The Silence of the Lambs is, it’s not hard to believe that Jodie Foster would have been less than ready to reprise her Oscar winning role as Clarice Starling. Hannibal was a box office success, but is hardly the critical darling the original is.

While ‘scheduling conflicts’ is an excuse Foster has given, she has insinuated that it was not the true reason for her replacement by Julianne Moore. Moore's involvement makes the separation of the sublime The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal much easier. This may not have been the case had Foster said yes to the project.

Years later, Foster stated, "in a nice, dignified way… I wasn't available when that movie was being shot... I saw Hannibal. I won't comment." That was probably comment enough, Jodie.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
