While Liam Hemsworth is hugely recogniseable, his brother, Chris Hemsworth, is undoubtedly one of the most successful in the business. He's appeared in a number of films over the years, but he's best known for portraying Thor across several movies in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

Like his brother, Hemsworth also rose to fame on a soap opera. Back in 2004, way before he was wielding the hammer of the Gods, the actor starred in Home and Away as Kim Hyde.

Kim arrived alongside his father - who was the principal of the school - which certainly stirred up trouble for the residents of Summer Bay. Before long, the character became something of a mainstay for the soap - not to mention a fan favourite. Hemsworth would continue to portray Kim until 2007. Prior to his appearance on Home and Away, Hemsworth also briefly appeared in Neighbours for a single episode back in 2002.

If Hemsworth's success isn't indicative of the platform that soaps can provide for an actor, then heaven knows what is
