10 Actors Who Begged For Their Horror Movie Character To Die

3. Samuel L. Jackson - Deep Blue Sea

Jackson was quite possibly the best part of this movie. The CGI sharks have not aged well, but his absolutely brilliant death scene more than makes up for it. It was almost completely different though!

The role was written for Jackson, who immediately fell in love with the role upon reading the death scene of his character. Come on, it’s Sam Jackson getting eaten by a shark, what’s not to love?!

Jackson’s character, a businessman named Franklin sent to inspect the facility where some scientists decided to have the ingenious idea of playing around with shark brains, was originally going to be chomped after his speech. However, Jackson loathed the dialogue that he had to read and instead suggested that he would eaten during the monologue.

In fact, it was so bad he asked crew members to “just kill me. The sooner you kill me, the happier I’ll be”.

And so, we got to watch a genetically engineered super-shark devour Samuel L. Jackson. Absolutely bloody brilliant.
