10 Actors Who Clearly Knew Their Movie Sucked

5. Sally Field In The Amazing Spider-Man 2

One thing all three Spider-Man movie franchises share is that they all have stellar casts, all of whom are cast exactly as they need to be, even if they aren't given the best direction (Garfield was a great choice for Peter, but the direction fell short). And this, of course, extends to Sally Field as Aunt May. However, don't take her stellar performance as an endorsement of the film.

In fact, it's quite the opposite, as she has gone on record multiple times condemning the whole affair. The only reason she took the job was due to a dear friend of hers being the producer. However, Field is - as always - a consummate professional, and puts her every fiber into making the performance count.

The scenes between her and Andrew Garfield, for example, are easily the best parts of both films, particularly the scene where she chews Peter out for focusing so much on the parents he lost and disregarding her, who actually put the work into raising him. It wasn't enough to actually save these films, mind you, but as with all the entries on this list, the effort was greatly appreciated.
