10 Actors Who Could Be The Batman We Deserve
7. Jon Hamm
It defies belief that Mad Men star Jon Hamm has never played a superhero in his career. His all-American good looks and award-winning acting skills are the kind of qualities Marvel and DC look for when casting their leads.
There was a time when Hamm would have made the ideal Superman, but since that part usually goes to actors in their late 20s to early 30s, that ship may have sailed. Batman, however, would be an equally good fit for his skill set.
Hamm's acclaimed work on Mad Men has put him in good stead to play Bruce Wayne as there are parallels to draw between Don Draper and the DC Comics billionaire that extend beyond their fat wallets.
Like Batman, Draper is a role steeped in duality. Don Draper is the identity Dick Whitman assumes after witnessing the death of its previous owner. He wears it like a mask and struggles when worlds collide, not unlike Master Wayne.
Hamm's post-Mad Men experience has only made him a stronger candidate for the part of Batman, with several Hollywood movies now under his belt. Check out the menacing intensity he channeled for Edgar Wright's Baby Driver.
