10 Actors Who Could Be The New James Bond

5. James Norton

Why He Might: James Norton is another English actor who's been picking up major traction recently, per his slew of acclaimed performances in TV series Happy Valley, Grantchester, War & Peace, and McMafia, as well as in recent drama film Nowhere Special.

Norton certainly looks handsome and dapper enough to play 007, and was also educated at both Cambridge and RADA, which certainly suggests he's capable of slinking into the part of the suave, sophisticated secret agent with ease.

Age also works well in his favour: he turned 36 over the summer and probably wouldn't be much older than Daniel Craig was when he started out as Bond.

Why He Might Not: Norton has talked about the role quite openly, which is always risky, and also outright stated that it would be "hard to swallow" the idea of the Bond franchise making it harder for him to work on smaller-scale independent films.

Then again, once the offer is on the table and Norton has the opportunity to make his mark on cinema history in such an indelible way, the temptation may be too great to resist.
