10 Actors Who Could Be The New James Bond
6. Tom Hardy
Why He Might: You can't really write a list about potential Bond candidates without mentioning Tom Hardy, because he's been topping the bookies' lists for years, and various dubious "reports" have recently claimed he's already been secretly cast in the role.
Hardy is a singular acting talent who would doubtless bring unrivaled gravitas to the role of 007. He can be badass, charming, and funny, looks great in a suit, and despite being just 5' 9" harbours the physical stature necessary to convince as a bruising super-spy.
Why He Might Not: By far the biggest hurdle for Hardy is his age. He just turned 44 and would be on the latter side of his 40s before his first film even started shooting.
Going by the pace of Daniel Craig's era as Bond, Hardy would be lucky to star in three films as the character before more-or-less aging out in his early-to-mid-50s, so the timing may be off for him, sadly.
It's also important to consider that Hardy's being kept plenty busy with the Venom franchise right now, and if it ever ends up dovetailing into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, he likely won't have time for 007.
A decade ago Hardy would've been perfect, but he's not nearly as likely a pick as the bookies or many fans seem to think today.
