10 Actors Who Could Play Black Panther In The Sequel

1. New: LaKeith Stanfield

At 29 years old, LaKeith Stanfield may be a little young to play T'Challa, who was 38 when he was dusted away in Infinity War. Still, what LaKeith Stanfield lacks in age, he more than makes up for in charm, magnetism, intensity, and sheer talent.

One of the most promising actors of his generation, he never fails to captivate an audience, stealing every scene he's in. Every frame Stanfield inhabits bursts with a sense of mystique and quiet intellectualism. His roles in Short Term 12, Selma, Straight Outta Compton, and Knives Out were excellent, as was his brief but memorable bit in Get Out.

His big claims to fame, though? That'd be Sorry to Bother You. That'd be Uncut Gems. Above all else, that'd be Atlanta, wherein he stars as the eccentric Darius. That's the same Atlanta that stars the MCU's Aaron Davis, Donald Glover, as well as the MCU's Phastos, Brian Tyree Henry.

Speaking of the MCU, Short Term 12 starred Brie Larson, and was helmed by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton. He's also set to star in the upcoming Western, The Harder They Fall, which stars fellow MCU alum Idris Elba, and future Kang the Conqueror, Jonathan Majors.
