10 Actors Who Could Play Donald Trump In A Film Biopic
2. Bob Odenkirk
Bob Odenkirk has bad hair, he's sort of short and tubby, and he might have small hands too, so he's already halfway towards bagging the role. Combine this with a distinctive voice that could probably easily be altered to sound a lot like Trump, terrific comic timing, and a keen eye for biting satire, and Odenkirk could definitely offer a fascinating take on The Donald.
Also, when you think about it, Odenkirk's most famous role, Saul Goodman, the cunning lawyer from Breaking Bad and spin-off show Better Call Saul, is a bit like Trump. He's the underdog in a profession that doesn't really value him or believe he belongs there, and his background is shady to say the least. Not to mention that the character Saul Goodman's real name is 'Jimmy McGill' but chose his new name as a lawyer because it sounds like you're saying, 's'all good, man', which you could kind of imagine being Drumpf's campaign slogan.
Odenkirk most likely wouldn't want to play Trump in a film that celebrated his achievements though, as he famously stated in The Guardian that Trump is "hilarious until he wins". However, not all political films have to be biased one way or another. Oliver Stone's W., about the life of George W. Bush, starred Josh Brolin and was surprisingly sympathetic of the former US president despite the fact that neither Stone nor Brolin even likes Bush. So should an impressive, accurate, unbiased script come Odenkirk's way, he could gift us with a phenomenally accurate portrayal.
