Matt Bomer is a name that's been linked with the cape and spandex since the pre-Superman Returns era, and it's easy to see why. With his all-American good looks and charm, he's beyond perfect for the dual part.
Bomer is best known for his TV work, playing starring roles in White Collar, Chuck and Tru Calling, but he's since broken into Hollywood, with appearances in films such as Magic Mike, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and Flightplan.
Adding serious brownie points to his cause, the 40-year-old has played Supes once before, providing the superhero's voice in the animated movie Superman: Unbound.
Bomer's age could go against him as Superman actors tend to be in their late 20s to early 30s, but he could pass for younger. Some camera trickery to make him look taller than 5'11 may be needed, though.
