As Warner Bros. plans to build a DC roster to rival the Avengers continue to take shape, its worth remembering that it wasnt so long ago that we nearly had a very different Justice League. Back in 2008, Mad Max creator George Miller was putting together his cast for Justice League: Mortal before the writers strike and, presumably, good sense intervened. Rapper/actor Common was enlisted to play Green Lantern, Adam Brody was lined up as the Flash, DJ Cotrona was all set to don Supermans cape, and Armie Hammer agreed to become the latest incarnation of Batman. Whatever your thoughts on the Justice League movie to come, its a pretty safe bet that it will be an improvement on Millers near miss. Still, its not hard to see why Hammers name has come up more than once in considering potential actors for superhero films, but we think hed be much more suited to Steve Rogers than Bruce Wayne. There are a lot of reasons why Armie Hammer would make a good Captain America: starting with the obvious, at a filled-out 65, he has the physicality for the role; the ill-fated The Lone Ranger has kept his salary in check; hes a good-looking swine not strictly necessary, but definitely a plus; and, most important of all, Hammer has an old-school charm and air of earnestness that is ideal for Cap. All told, Armie Hammer is a legitimate and viable contender to pick up the shield.
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
