Films of 2012: The Vow, 21 Jump Street, Magic Mike, Haywire, 10 Years Like Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum had a break out year in terms of respectability with certain film goers. He had made a career of being the chiseled, action or romantic star in numerous sub par films. But with the help of Steven Soderbergh, he finally gained acclamation from critics and audiences alike. In "Magic Mike," especially, he was able to tell a personal story that was near and dear to him. And he got to show how great his dance moves were. And in "21 Jump Street" he was able to show his comedic side which has always been there but this vehicle just allowed him to feature it. It goes to show that if you put the right actor into the right role, it will prove beneficial.
