10 Actors Who Didn't Understand Their Own Movie

9. Tom Berenger - Inception

Inception was a sci-fi action film from 2010, which was directed by Christopher Nolan with a star-studded cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Tom Berenger, and many more. The film revolves around the premise that people can enter into someone's dreams to manipulate them or steal information.

Because it continues to jump down the rabbit hole from one dream to another, the movie can be somewhat confusing. Most people had to go back and watch it again to fully grasp it, but even with the strange plot, the film was a huge success, and one of the best from 2010.

That being said, the audience wasn't the only group of people who didn't get Inception. Some of the actors had a hard time following what was going on as well. Tom Berenger certainly fits this description, and he had trouble before, during, and after the filming concluded.

He famously said of the script, "After I finished it, if anybody had interrogated me under torture to tell them what exactly the plot was, I’d be hard put." Despite his inability to follow the plot, he put out an outstanding performance, which just goes to show how good an actor he is.
