10 Actors Who Dramatically Rebranded Themselves In The Last Decade
7. Jason Bateman
It's never easy for child stars to shake the roles that made them famous before they were even old enough to drive, and for quite a while, it looked like Jason Bateman might suffer a similar fate to Kirk Cameron or Corey Feldman. Awash in obscurity for much of the 90s, Bateman scored the role of a lifetime as the black sheep of the Bluth family in Arrested Development.
But while diehard fans of the show cherished Bateman as the ever-responsible Michael Bluth, he'd gain more widespread traction for his bit part as the douche-y color commentator in 2004's Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
From there, Bateman was able to hop from role to role, perfecting his dry wit and taking up the mantle of the world's most bankable straight man.
Seriously, if you need a slightly sardonic, conventionally attractive straight man to ground your outrageous comedy or bring a little levity to your serious indie flick, Bateman is your man. He's brought his sharp sensibilities to projects as diverse as Juno, Hancock, and Horrible Bosses.
Much like the similarly bankable Paul Rudd, it seems we just can't get enough of the clean cut Bateman.
