10 Actors Who Dramatically Rebranded Themselves In The Last Decade
3. Rob Lowe
After becoming one of the hottest actors of the 80s Rob Lowe went through some very public scandals that put him out of public favor for quite awhile. The former Brat Packer was certainly in good company, though, as Lowe was merely one of many in-demand stars to fall by the wayside during the 90s.
Unlike, say, Charlie Sheen, however, Lowe was able to put himself back on the straight and narrow and stay there. With a cleaned-up image, Lowe fell in with the likes of John Stamos and Mario Lopez as someone who seemed to aged with an almost superhuman grace.
His move toward middle-aged TV hunk began on The West Wing, but it wasn't until he surprised everyone with his comedic chops on Parks and Recreation that his personal brand became damn near untouchable.
Appearances on Californication and soon-to-be cult classic You, Me, and the Apocalypse helped cement his place as a comedy gem, but his leading role opposite Fred Savage on the network sitcom The Grinder has ensured that he'll at least be a television mainstay for the remainder of the decade.
