1. Samuel L. Jackson - Star Wars: I-III
I'm personally of the belief that Sam Jackson can no do wrong, but even die-hard fans would probably have to admit that - on occasion - he has a tendency to play "himself" in that kind of badass mother vein that we've all come to expect and - yes - love. The
Star Wars universe is, of course, a varied one, so it's not like the Mace Windu character doesn't fit in or anything, it's just that Jackson seems like he doesn't belong in the world as it's already been established for some strange, nagging reason. He just doesn't feel very... well,
Star Wars. I think mostly it's down to overexposure. Jackson has been associated with almost every movie ever made at one time or another, and having such an iconic actor right smack bang in this incredibly iconic series just seems a little overboard. Jackson is fine in the movie, but I doubt anybody would fret if we lost his character entirely, especially when he's giving such a Sam Jackson-esque performance. It's just really hard to sync him with this universe. I feel like it's almost - for lack of a better word - "funny" that he's actually here? As though I'm watching an MTV Music Video Awards spoof, and Jack Black is gonna step out any second to tell a joke.
