Another piece of recruitment that looked like the stuff of Star Wars fans' dreams heading into a hit-and-miss Prequel era, bringing the baddest muthaf***a in the galaxy into the Jedi fold felt like a match made in heaven for a time.

Only, instead of having Samuel L. Jackson lend his undeniable charisma to the sort of maverick variation of Jedi seen in Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn, George Lucas thought it best to stuff the Pulp Fiction icon into the soulless Master that was Mace Windu for his entire stint in space.

Now sure, Jackson did get to add some swagger to the mix on the battlefield, sporting his one-of-a-kind purple lightsaber as he took down Jango Fett and making one of the all-time top entrances in the saga's history beforehand with his "this party's over" utterance on Geonosis in Attack of the Clones.

But outside of those few highlights, Jackson was as under-utilised as he's ever been throughout his prolific career during much of his Episode I-III screen-time, spending more moments rumbling on about prophecies and politics than he does proving precisely why Windu was classed as the greatest champion of the Jedi Order.
