10 Actors Who Suffered Career Meltdowns After Winning Oscars

9. Halle Berry

Halle Berry is still sort of "active," but not in the true sense of the word - not in a way that means people on planet Earth actually care about what she's up to. Which is odd, really, given that - back when she won her Oscar for Monster's Ball - it looks as though Berry would go on to be one of the greatest actors of her generation. After all, she was the first African American woman to win the Best Actress Oscar. The career meltdown here is easy to track: Berry won the Oscar (and rightly so), and then she decided to be in both Die Another Day and then Catwoman. Whilst Die Another Day was plainly naff, Catwoman was lambasted as one of the worst motion pictures to have ever been created and Berry was held responsible for a lot of its awfulness. Which makes sense when you see her in the picture: she is, for lack of a better description term, "insanely bad" (seriously: it's like she's gone insane in the movie). She won a Razzie for her performance (just a year after the Oscar win), and her career has never really recovered as a result. She turns up now and again in stuff, but usually in rather plain or straight roles. You never leave the theatre remembering her. Just Catwoman. Always Catwoman.
