Nobody's going to profess the two mid-2000s Fantastic Four movies to be great works of cinema, but they at least looked like they were fun films to make. However Jessica Alba, who played Sue Storm in the movies, has an altogether different perspective.

Speaking specifically of the 2007 sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer, Alba said that she didn't really remember the movie at all, save for the scenes where Sue Storm had to cry.

This is due to a painful on-set experience while shooting a scene where Sue is in tears - of which there are several - and she ended up coming to blows with director Tim Story.

Alba said, "I wanted to stop acting. The director was like, 'It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.' He was like, 'Don't do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.' And I'm like, 'But there's no connection to a human being.' So I just said, 'F*** it. I don't care about this business anymore.'"

As if a movie cynically adding digital tears wasn't insulting enough, dismissing a woman's performed emotional response as "too ugly" because she's can't possibly ever be less than stunningly beautiful is all kinds of disgraceful.
