10 Actors Who Have Become Badass Directors

3. Bill Hader

Jason Bateman Ozark
HBO

Bill Hader, aka Stefan of Saturday Night Live fame, has come a long way since his time on the famous sketch comedy series.

Since leaving SNL in 2013, Hader has gone on to appear in such films as Trainwreck, It Chapter Two, and Inside Out. He's recently gone back to TV, creating the HBO series Barry.

Barry is an intense comedy/drama starring Hader in the title role of a hitman who falls in love with acting. Hader has directed five episodes of the acclaimed series, including ronny/lily, one of Barry's best. His work on both ronny/lily and the series' pilot earned him Emmy nominations for directing for a comedy series.

It's safe to say that Bill Hader is a better actor than Barry Berkman, and a much better director than Gene M. Cousineau.
