10 Actors Who Have Become Parodies Of Themselves

7. Charlie Sheen

Known For: Starring in Oliver Stone's Wall Street and his violent war epic Platoon before scoring a few comedy hits in the Hot Shots franchise, and then garnering his biggest success with the TV series Two and a Half Men. Of course, during this time Sheen's battles with alcohol, drugs and hookers were widely documented, resulting in what appeared to be some sort of a mental breakdown. The Parody: Sheen, however, rather than seek help for his issues, essentially seemed to just run with the ball, reinventing himself overnight with a series of idiosyncratic interviews that won him legions of Twitter fans, even if his behaviour did eventually result in him being booted from his TV show (and being replaced with Ashton Kutcher - yikes). Sheen bounced back by creating the TV show Anger Management, which was basically the man playing on his own persona, something that was more invasively explored in both Roman Coppola's A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III (he plays a hotshot sent into a tailspin), and then Scary Movie V, where he actually plays himself. The amusing thing is that if Sheen ever went clean and tried to become a serious actor ever again, he'd probably lose popularity as a result; people love public meltdowns.
