10 Actors Who Have Played More Than One Iconic Character

1. Harrison Ford

A list of this kind wouldn€™t be complete without mentioning Harrison Ford who has played some of cinema€™s biggest icons. At the ripe old age of seventy, he shows no sign of slowing down either with a possible rumoured appearance in the upcoming Star Wars sequels. It is in that franchise that we find the first of his iconic characters €“ Han Solo. Han is certainly considered to be one of the best characters in the Star Wars universe. His whole throw caution to the wind attitude and laid back persona are what make audiences root for him. He also oozes cool, particularly with the exchange with Princess Leia in Empire Strikes Back where she tells him she loves him and he simply replies that he knows. Working with George Lucas again and Steven Spielberg, a new icon was born in Indiana Jones which, like Star Wars, is one of cinema€™s most successful and best loved franchises. A similar character, in some respects, to Han Solo, Jones is both a stuffy archaeology teacher and a whip-cracking adventurer and hero, scouring the globe for mystical treasures, as well as fortune and glory. Ford would play the character four times, with the possibility of a fifth still cropping up from time to time. Ford was also part of another well-loved sci-fi film, Blade Runner, where he played the character of Rick Deckard. Ford plays a retired cop, a Blade Runner, who is tasked with finding some replicants €“ genetically-engineered beings €“ who have escaped. The film is intelligent science fiction and throws up all kinds of moral quandaries such as what constitutes life and humanity. Think of any more actors of have played more than one iconic role?
