10 Actors Who Instantly Regretted Movie Roles
5. Jim Carrey Cannot Condone The Violence - Kick-Ass 2
While he may have actually initially enjoyed the experience of bringing the expectedly violent Colonel Stars and Stripes to life whilst shooting on the follow-up to the smash hit that was 2010's Kick-Ass, Jim Carrey quickly found himself experiencing "a change in heart" before the bloody sequel was unleashed into theatres.
Having already wrapped on the hard-hitting super-film a month earlier, news of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School incident quickly resulted in Carrey letting it be known on Twitter that "I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence."
The star would continue by noting, "My apologies to others involved with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent event have caused a change in my heart."
And while Mark Miller, creator of the comics upon which the films were based, would add that he was "baffled" by Carrey's decision to suddenly distance himself from the project, Carrey clearly wanted nothing more to do with a feature he simply deemed too violent for the times.
