10 Actors Who Just Appeared In Their Worst Movie
2. Jenna Ortega - Hurry Up Tomorrow
Jenna Ortega is one of the most promising rising actresses of her generation, because more than a mere star, she's absolutely got the acting chops to back it up, proven by her work in the likes of The Fallout, Scream, X, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Ortega's less genre-infused dramatic work is a little shakier in terms of critical reception, though it's certainly never been a case that she's the problem - and that's also true of her recent dud release Hurry Up Tomorrow.
Despite the firm directorial pedigree of filmmaker Trey Edward Shults, this maddening psychological thriller was largely panned for its shallow narrative and a limp central performance from Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye.
Ortega was absolutely fine as the female lead, acting circles around her co-star as she did, but the scattered script gave her strangely little to do, ensuring that with its 14% Tomatometer rating this was by far the worst-received film of her entire career to date.
Given that Ortega's upcoming projects see her working with Taika Waititi and J.J. Abrams, though, she'll clearly won't suffer much for it.
