10 Actors Who Just Quit HUGE Movies

6. Pedro Pascal - Weapons

Zach Cregger became an overnight filmmaking sensation following the stratospheric success of his unhinged horror hit Barbarian in 2022, ensuring that every studio in town was tripping over themselves to secure his follow-up.

This project has turned out to be Weapons, a multi-story horror film which has been compared to Magnolia, though the particulars are being kept firmly under wraps for now.

Pedro Pascal was confirmed to be starring in the film last May, and though his departure hasn't yet been formally announced by anyone involved, industry insider Jeff Sneider reported at the start of the year that Pascal recently left the film.

The reason for this was, again, a simple case of scheduling.

With Pascal being one of the most in-demand actors working today - between The Last of Us' second season, The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, and his rumoured casting as Reed Richards in the MCU's Fantastic Four - there simply wasn't time to fit this in also.

While it absolutely made business sense to nix the lowest-profile of the four projects, it's still a damn shame we won't get to see Pascal work with one of the most exciting rising filmmakers working today.

Given that Pascal's exit still hasn't been confirmed by the studio or Pascal himself, though, there's naturally no word of his replacement yet.
