10 Actors Who Just Quit HUGE Movies
4. Barry Keoghan - Gladiator 2
Ridley Scott's recently wrapped Gladiator sequel will feature two major villains by way of co-emperors Caracalla and Geta, the former played by Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn, while Barry Keoghan was originally set to play the latter, said to be the bigger of the two roles.
Keoghan was cast last March, though a few months later in the early summer, he had to drop out due to - yes, wait for it - scheduling conflicts. And like that, the world was robbed of Keoghan playing a presumably larger-than-life scumbag villain in a Ridley Scott epic. Boo.
Shortly thereafter, Keoghan was confirmed to have been replaced by The White Lotus' Fred Hechinger, and while one might be tempted to see this personnel change as a bit of a downgrade - no offense to Hechinger - given his solid acting CV to date it's worth giving him the benefit of the doubt.
