Chloë Moretz gets banded around a lot for a Holland era Black Cat, but with the actress putting a halt on her current roles, we have to look elsewhere. Saoirse Ronan may be typecast as the innocent girl next door form her part in The Lovely Bones and The Grand Budapest Hotel, but 2011's Hanna proves she can be deadly too.

If you are going to go with an older Bacon-esque Morbius, a more mature Hardy fits their romantic relationship. Westworld's Evan Rachel Wood could perfectly slip into the lycra for that version - she is currently kicking ass as psychot-bot Dolores on HBO.

She was cut from Spider-Man 2, planned for Raimi's cancelled fourth, and you would barely notice that Felicity Jones played her in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Black Cat would most likely be a secondary villain. You can imagine her changing her allegiance either to or from Spider-Man and working alongside the likes of Wilson Fisk in the depths of a criminal underworld.

You can't help but feel that Hardy is just around the corner somewhere and would make a superb Spider-Man villain. It is no coincidence that Black Cat is Marvel's answer to Catwoman, serving as both an ally and a menace in Parker's years. Exploiting Ronan with Felicia's feline flirting may be a little awkward and the character does lend herself to a more grown-up Parker.
