10 Actors Who Must Play Spider-Man Villains In The MCU
8. John Goodman As Kingpin
Real Name: Wilson Fisk
First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #50 (1967)
Alternative: Laurence Fishburne
Why has no one already thought to repeat The Gambler, shave John Goodman's head, and place him in a crisp white suit as Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin. Daredevil may seem to have laid claim to the big fat cueball, but let's not forget that Kingpin's origins stemmed from the spider.
Goodman has come a long way from his campy Flinstone days and you can see him at his intimidating best as Howard in 10 Cloverfield Lane. He has the right stature and screen presence to make the Spideyverse's crime underworld quake. As for Laurence Fishburne as an alternative, he commanded as FBI lead Jack Crawford for three season's of NBC's Hannibal.
So, what makes Kingpin such a great villain - he is big, no really, he is a huge man. Composed almost entirely of muscle, Kingpin has (near) superhuman strength. Just as Bane went from comedy to genuine muscled menace, could a Spider-Man outing be on the cards?
We have already seen Fox screw up Blob and Juggernaut, so let's see if Marvel could do better without worsening the obesity situation. Shedding Fisk from Daredevil lore will be particularly hard if the MCU plan on including him, helped in no small part by Vincent D’Onofrio's brilliant portrayal - it is about time Parker got him back though!
