10 Actors Who Must Play Spider-Man Villains In The MCU
7. Cillian Murphy As Chameleon
Real Name: Dmitri Anatoly Smerdyakov Kravinoff
First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #1 (1963)
Alternative: Ralph Fiennes
Who could pass up on seeing Murphy in yet another villainous super role, while back in 2015 the Scarecrow actor told IGN he would love to part of the MCU - perfect. As the chilling anti-hero he has bullied his way through three seasons of Peaky Blinders and lead the unnerving thriller Retreat in 2011. Ralph Fiennes on the other hand monopolised parts as Lord Voldemort, the Red Dragon, and Hades - he is almost overqualified for the role!
The original, but maybe not the best, Chameleon takes home the award for being the first Spider-Man foe. It would make sense that if we are going back to a Parker origin, it is now or never for the sly Soviet.
The thinking man's villain, Chameleon relies on trickery and imitation to get what he wants, literally transforming into anyone with his pockets full of disguises. Admittedly, including Chameleon in the MCU would involve a lot of actors and dual roles, but Mystique has been a mainstay of the X-Men films since 2000 and it didn't do them any harm.
