10 Actors Who Play Multiple Roles In The MCU

The second post credits scene of Eternals sees Dane Whitman reach for his Ebony Blade as a mysterious voice interrupts him. That voice belongs to two time Academy Award winning actor Mahershala Ali. Ali was announced to play Eric Brooks, aka Blade, in the MCU's reboot of the character. Before his own film, Blade made his brief and offscreen introduction in that Eternals scene.

However, this is not the first time Ali has graced the MCU with his presence. Even before his first Oscar win for Moonlight, Ali portrayed Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, the antagonist for the first half of the first season of Luke Cage. Ali turned Stokes into a terrifying antagonist for Luke, tormenting him for the first seven episodes of the season. Unfortunately, Stokes is killed off in the middle of the action after pushing his cousin Mariah too far. Though a shocking twist, it still feels wasteful to only utilise a talent like Ali's for half a season.

Although Cottonmouth was gone far too soon, it seems that Blade will provide Ali with more time to shine in the MCU.
