10 Actors Who Really Don't Belong In Upcoming Movies

9. Scarlett Johansson - Ghost In A Shell

Aside from Akira, Ghost in a Shell is perhaps the most famous anime movie outside of Japan (that isn't made by Studio Ghibli, at least). And guess what, everyone? Hollywood has decided that they want to remake this movie, with director Rupert Sanders - the man behind Snow White and the Huntsman and Kristen Stewart's Affair - signed on to helm the adaptation. The worst thing about this upcoming adaptation, however, isn't that it's being helmed by a crappy director; it's that Ghost in the Shell is set to star Scarlett Johansson in the leading role. "What's wrong with that?" you ask. "Scarlett Johansson is one of the best actresses of modern times!" Right you are, of course, but the beef here isn't with Johansson, it's with another example of Hollywood whitewashing. The main character in the original anime, after all, is of Asian decent. As a result, this is a genuine case of an actor not belonging in a movie; Ghost in a Shell is Japanese to the core. Johansson, for all her talents, isn't. Let's not go down the Aloha/Emma Stone route, Hollywood. Not again. Please.
