No, it wasn't what The Rock was cooking. It was trouble.

When you throw two alpha males into any space for too long, it's only a matter of time before those egos are going to collide.

That's exactly what happened during the shooting of Fast 8 when things got quite tense between the film's top billed stars, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel.

Johnson had slammed one of his fellow acting partners on social media - although he kept their name secret - during the last week of filming. He mentioned that some actors didn't know how to 'conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals'. Yet, he later all but confirmed he was talking about Diesel when talking to Rolling Stone. He said, 'we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating.'

Johnson also confirmed that the pair weren't in any scenes together in the film. So, any time you saw them in the same scene, camera trickery and heavy editing was no doubt used to make it look like they could actually stand to be in the same space together.
