There was a time when Tom Sizemore and Val Kilmer could work on film set together without wanting to throw objects at each other's heads, as evidenced in the making of Heat (1995).

However, that time felt like a distant memory five years later during the production of Red Planet (2000).

Sizemore and Kilmer reportedly clashed over the fact that the former had the studio ship his exercise machine over to Australia for the shoot. During one heated confrontation, Kilmer allegedly said 'I’m making ten million on this; you’re only making two', which led to Sizemore launching a 50-pound weight at the former Batman.

Producers also begged Sizemore not to hit his co-star in the face during their inevitable fight scene which happened in the movie, so he obliged and thumped Kilmer in the chest instead.

At one point, things got so bad the pair outright refused to shoot scenes together, which meant that director Anthony Hoffman had to bring in stand-ins to act opposite both bitter stars.

Thankfully, it looks like the warring actors have since patched things up and are now back on good terms. However, we're still yet to see the duo star in another flick together.
