Unlike Gosling and McAdams, Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte weren't able to use their on-set conflict as fuel to produce movie magic.

Instead, the pair repeatedly fought each other and their complete lack of chemistry was on show for the world to see when I Love Trouble landed on screens in 1994.

Things reportedly got so bitter between the two that the film's director Charles Shyer had no choice but to film a number of their scenes separately in order to keep them from being on the same set at the same time.

In the end, it was claimed that the co-stars spent more time acting with stand-ins than they did with each other, despite being the driving forces of the movie.

The heat between the actors didn't die down once filming had ended, though. After Roberts had branded Nolte as 'completely disgusting' during an interview with the New York Times, the veteran actor replied by stating, 'It's not nice to call someone 'disgusting.' But she's not a nice person. Everyone knows that.'

Don't expect to see these two bitter enemies return for I Love Trouble II: Trouble In Paradise any time soon.
