Despite managing to get through the filming of Jan de Bont's disaster flick Twister (1996), Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt reportedly weren't in a rush to work with each other again in the future.

The pair were said to have hated each other on set, but that didn't stop them appearing together in a Universal Studios theme park ride based on the flick a few years later. However, the stars brilliantly found a way to fulfil their contractual obligations without actually standing on the same set together.

Paxton and Hunt both filmed their 'Twister... Ride It Out' roles separately, with the end result being one of the most jarring split screen exchanges you're ever likely to see.

We never saw the pair appear together in a project again after this odd theme park scene, but Hunt did have some touching words to say about Paxton after his untimely passing in 2017.

She tweeted: 'He made this movie great--he acted his heart out. What a talented man. My thoughts are with his family.'

Hopefully this means the pair were able to put their differences aside in the years after their Twister experience.

A Twister reboot was finally announced in June, so perhaps we could see Hunt return as Dr. Jo Harding for one last storm chase.
