10 Actors Who Said They'd Never Go Back (But Did It Anyway)

8. Kim Catrall - Sex And The City

Natalie Portman Thor
HBO

While the last entry was an example of someone returning to the small screen to reprise a film role, Catrall's experience is an example of the reverse. Catrall starred as the free spirited Samantha Jones in the hit TV show, a nymphomaniac New Yorker who in many ways was the heart and soul of the show.

The show's conclusion was largely due to Catrall wanting to end her involvement in the show, with a heavily rumoured falling out between Sarah Jessica Parker the cause of the issues. Talks of a movie follow up to the successful show were regularly stonewalled by Catrall, despite significant public interest and persistent persuasion by Parker.

Catrall eventually 'gave in' to the demands, presumably accepting a hefty pay packet for her dues. The first of two movies was released in 2008 and was a box office smash. The 2010 sequel was also a financial success, although was critically ravaged for scenes deemed to be racist.

Amazingly, the story seems to have come full circle, with Parker pushing hard for another sequel with Catrall pushing against the idea once more. Catrall has accused Parker of bullying her to try and make a third film, a mighty big accusation indeed, so I wouldn't hold my breath re a third reunion for the girls.
