10 Actors Who Should Play Future James Bond Movie Villains
1. Leonardo DiCaprio
This entry is simple. It’s Leonardo DiCaprio, the man is amazing. The end.
Realistically, that is pretty much all that needs to be said in support of this suggestion, but what I will say is, imagine taking DiCaprio’s character of Cobb from ‘Inception’ and dropping him into the Bond universe.
I’m not saying James Bond should start going into peoples’ dreams, what I’m saying is imagine pitting Bond against an agent that is basically his equal and opposite number in the American secret service. Someone smooth and suave, but is also highly trained and able to infiltrate secure locations.
Think about it, if you remove the dream element from ‘Inception’s’ opening sequence in Saito’s compound, it could be ripped straight out of a Bond film. The spy craft, the meeting a femme fatale on a roof top, the tactical infiltration, it’s all there, and DiCaprio plays it perfectly.
Now, you take that character, mix in a little bit of Calvin Candie’s unhinged and explosive nature (minus the accent and racism) and you have got yourself an Bond villain for the ages.
But as I said there’s not much that needs to be said to defend this suggestion. Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the greatest actors of his generation, a far more compelling argument would just simply be to list every film he has been in and let his work speak for itself. But I hope this has shed a little more light on what DiCaprio could bring to Bond.
