10 Actors Who Should Play Future James Bond Movie Villains

5. Christian Bale

Once again, let’s just say it, Christian Bale is amazing. He never turns in a bad performance, and dedicates himself to his role like very few ever have, and that is why he would make such a fantastic option for a Bond villain.

Because of his famous body transformations, he is more than capable of making himself Bond’s physical equal, but it also gives him the chance to create a villain the likes of which the Bond franchise hasn’t seen before.

The kind of villain Bale could play is therefore very difficult to pin down, as his ability to inhabit such a wide range of characters is unparalleled and practically unlimited. He could go mysterious and suave like Bruce Wayne, emotionally suppressed like Preston from ‘Equilibrium’ or sinister and straight up insane like Patrick Bateman from ‘American Psycho’.

Any of these options would fit perfectly into the Bond universe, and would make excellent adversaries for 007. But, because of Bales immense range, it would be the wrong decision to any restrictions on him.

If he were ever to play a Bond villain, you might as well just leave him to his own devises. Just give him the script, let him build the character his own way, let him come back, turn on the camera and just watch the magic happen.

Basically, just let Christian Bale be Christian Bale. Even if he does get a bit shouty sometimes.
