10 Actors Who Should Play Spider-Man In Avengers: Infinity War
5. Jack O'Connell
2014 was a breakthrough year for Jack O'Connell; out of nowhere, the young actor suddenly emerged as one of the most promising and sought-after talents of his generation after giving three critically-acclaimed lead performances in prison drama Starred Up, prestige biopic Unbroken and historical thriller '71. To cement his rise to the top of the industry, it is almost inevitable that he will play a key role in a big-budget blockbuster eventually, and what better way to do it than taking on one of the comic book genre's biggest names? While there is no doubt that O'Connell has the talent, screen presence and natural charisma to succeed as both Peter Parker and his costumed alter-ego, it seems unlikely that he would commit to the necessary multi-picture contract required. Although he played a supporting role in 300: Rise of an Empire, the actor admitted that he wasn't too keen on the idea of getting into the blockbuster business and took the part because he had bills to pay. If Spider-Man does eventually enter the MCU, the notoriously frugal Marvel Studios should make a real effort to recruit the 24 year-old before his asking price becomes too high, because based on his current career trajectory Jack O'Connell could soon become one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
