10 Actors Who Should Play Spider-Man In Avengers: Infinity War

4. Brenton Thwaites

Following in the footsteps of countless others including Guy Pearce, Naomi Watts, Heath Ledger and Chris Hemsworth, Australian actor Brenton Thwaites appeared in soap opera Home and Away before making the transition to the States, where he has firmly established himself as one of the industry's most sought-after young talents. Already part of a massive franchise after signing on to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Thwaites' has already shown enough in his brief Hollywood career to mark himself out as a strong candidate for the eventual recasting of Spider-Man. While his two most high-profile roles to date have been in the lackluster Maleficent and The Giver, the actor did his best with the lightweight material on offer. However, Thwaites has received plenty of critical praise for his work in smaller-budget projects like Oculus, The Signal and Son of a Gun. Next year brings the biggest challenge of the 25 year-old's career as he leads the cast of Alex Proyas' $150m blockbuster Gods of Egypt, and if Thwaites proves he can lead a big-budget studio movie with a strong central performance he will surely be one of the favorites to be next in line to play the iconic web-slinger.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
