Who wouldn't want to see an actor as gifted and as broad-ranged as Michael Fassbender turning his hand to one of the most complex characters ever committed to film?

Fassbender ticks almost every box for the ideal image of what both Batman and Bruce Wayne should be. He's intriguing, he has a tangible exoticness that comes at least partly from his strange, removed global accent, and he definitely has it in him to be the right kind of weird and ostentatious.

He would easily inhabit the same sort of creative space Michael Keaton did as Bruce Wayne, adding intensity and his trademark bubbling emotional vulnerability, and he'd be an interesting, lithe Dark Knight who would absolutely need to trade of the power of fear. And of course, he's a very talented actor - chameleon-like even - and Warner Bros need a big, big name to replace Ben Affleck if the worst happens.
