10 Actors Who Should Replace Ben Affleck As Batman

2. Matt Damon

Though they're in no way alike as actors (aside from their initial work together on Good Will Hunting), Matt Damon and Ben Affleck go together like cheese and crackers. And it probably wouldn't be unfair to say that, of the two, Damon is the more appreciated acting talent, so having him step into Affleck's shoes would feel almost symbolic.

Of all of the suggestions on this list, Damon is arguably the highest level A-lister and the most dependable box office draw. He's also just proved with the latest Bourne movie that he can do strong, silent action heroes who use their mythology to announce themselves.

And on the flipside, he is an incredibly charismatic lead, who could easily take on the requirements of playing Bruce Wayne (and without having to make him feel particularly unlikeable). The only issue is perhaps that he's too conventionally "nice guy", but he has played with darker roles in the past (in the likes of The Departed), so it's not outside of his wheelhouse.
